Exploration in color & texture.

My love for art has blossomed and grown throughout the last several years. My studies at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington marked the beginning of my life as an artist; however, I first fell in love with painting in Florence, Italy.

Artist, Nenad Babic, took me under his wing and mentored me to be a stronger, more disciplined painter. He has a beautiful studio near the Duomo where we would sit and chat and paint for hours.

For the next two and a half years I continued to soak up his knowledge and experience. Nenad uses an impasto style with a palette knife, as do I, and his encouragement and resources are a huge reason that I am a painter today. I started in acrylic, and now I solely work with oils and a palette knife to create an impasto style with thick, playful texture.

After studying at Libera Accademia di Belle Arti for six months in Florence, I relocated to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula due to the pandemic in 2020. Although my heart will always long for Italy, I have found a new adoration for the California coast.

Living on the central coast of California it is incredibly hard not to be inspired by all of my surroundings. You'll find my work is primarily inspired by the ocean, foliage, and the vibrant colors of Monterey's coastline. It is most fulfilling for me to depict scenes that are joyful and bursting with movement and life. I hope to bring that feeling of joy and awe-inspiring beauty I find in nature to the viewer.
